Belgian Fries at The Drive: Best Fries!

Ever since December, I’ve been in the East Vancouver community a lot and since its summer, I’ve decided to visit “The Drive” also known as basically just Commercial Drive. It was actually my boyfriend who told me about this area that was absolutely foreign to me. Went online lately and was look for poutine and came across a place called Belgian Fries. I’ve read a lot of good reviews about it so decided to check it out.

I’ve been to a few poutine places like Fritz, La Belle Patate on Davie and of course the regular poutine places like Costco and New York Fries. Finding authentic poutine, like the ones I had in Quebec is simply impossible. Below is a photo of this amazing sausage poutine that I had in Quebec City’s Chez AshTon. The cheese curds are so fresh hence the squeekyness and the fries are just right!

Alright, lets get back to Vancouver…

After going to so many places, I’ve given up on finding real cheese curds and instead I’ve just decided to look for the place with the best fries paired with the right amount of gravy and I personally love Belgian Fries now :)

Visited Belgian Fries on Commercial Drive. Its actually on the corner of 3rd Ave and Commercial Drive. We usually park on 3rd because its just easier to park there. We got the classic poutine and chicken strips. Chicken Strips were the plain regular chicken strips. Nothing special. Lets move on to the better things like Poutine and those two beverages on the side.

The fries in the poutine are so good, crispy and soft in the middle, the gravy isn’t too salty or bland. The fries are also from real potatoes and not the powder version which I absolutely is not a fan of.  I think its just perfect and of course the cheese curds are just like the cheese curds that you find at almost every poutine place in Vancouver.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen this little guy :) The glass bottled Coca Cola.
I love Coca Cola in a glass bottle simply because the amount of carbonation in there is just PERFECT and the flavor is kept much better than those aluminum cans.
